Orange Knowledge Programmes' Fellowships for Masters Students 2019
About the OKP
The Orange Knowledge
Programme promotes capacity building within organisations in 52 countries by
providing training and education through fellowships for professionals. The
overall aim of the OKP is to help increase both the number and the competencies
of skilled staff at a wide range of governmental and non-governmental
organisations. You have to be nominated by your employer to be eligible for the
fellowship. There also has to be a clear need for training within the context
of your organisation. After completing your training you return to your
original workplace, and this ensures the training is embedded within your
organisation.
Who is
the OKP for?
The OKP target group
consists of professionals who are nationals of, and work and live in, an OKP country. The chances of obtaining an OKP
fellowship increase if you live and work in Sub-Saharan Africa and/or if you
are a woman.
The allowance is a
contribution towards your costs of living, the costs of tuition fees, visas,
travel, insurance and thesis research.
Application
procedure
You can apply for the OKP
through Radboud University. The application round for Master’s programmes with
starting date September 2019 will be opened from 3 February 2019 till 25
March 2019. You will be informed by Radboud University about the outcome
of the selection by mail end of May 2019.
In order to apply for the
OKP you must first apply for the Master's programme of your choice. However,
you do not need to wait until you have been officially accepted to study at
Radboud University before you apply for the OKP. You can apply for the OKP as
soon as you have applied for an eligible Master's programme.
However, it would be
strongly advisable to apply for a Master's programme well in advance of the OKP
deadline. This because you must be accepted by the university at the end
of the deadline. Our website contains more information about the assessment period after you submit your
application for a Master's programme.
Your OKP application will
require a statement from your employer. You can download a document with the
required format for employer's statements by clicking here (docx, 33 kB). You may also
require a government statement. A document with the required format for
government statements and more information can be downloaded by clicking here (docx, 46 kB).
Please note: Only if you
meet all necessary requirements can you begin the OKP application procedure at
Radboud University.
Criteria
and general information
On the Orange Knowledge Programme website you can
find specific criteria and general information.
OKP
selection procedure
If a candidate meets the
requirements his or her application will be assessed. The Netherlands Embassy
and NUFFIC will eventually decide. You will be informed by Radboud University
about the outcome of the selection procedure by email.
